HBCUs Honor Dominique Da Diva In Inaugural ‘I Aspire’ 100
Urban One personality Dominique Da Diva, the host of The Dominique Da Diva Radio Show, has been included in the first-ever HBCU First Look 100 “I Aspire” List. The list celebrates influential figures in the realms of film, television, and broadcasting, and includes industry giants like Oprah Winfrey and Nick Cannon.
Dominique Da Diva currently helms her eponymous radio show, airing on Urban One’s WKYS in Washington, DC, and WERQ in Baltimore. She also co-hosts the podcast Divas Unfiltered with media personality Chey Parker. Beyond her on-air roles, Dominique regularly appears on Fox 5 DC to discuss entertainment and culture.
A Virginia State University alum, Dominique is committed to fostering future media talents. Her initiative, the “Media Queen in Charge Brunch,” aims to empower young women looking to break into the media industry. In addition, she hosts one of the nation’s largest HBCU College festivals, which will take place both virtually and in-person this November.
Urban One Vice President of Programming Kashon Powell said, “I’ve been with Diva right from the beginning 10 years ago when I hired her for her first radio position in Norfolk. I’m thrilled to see he get the recognition she deserves as one of the top 100 recognized HBCU alums who are shining such a positive light in preparing the next generation of content creators.”
Dominique added, “Being named to the Inaugural HBCU 100 is a dream come true. This is truly an honor so early in my career to be on the same list with my media icons and moguls like Oprah. I have to thank my Urban One family for giving me this great platform for growth and self-development. I’m so proud we are the Number One urban radio show in DC, Baltimore, and Richmond.”
